Today Z and I went to Corvette Carlisle, which, amazingly enough, is a Corvette show in Carlisle PA. We were up at 5am to hit the road at 6, to make sure we arrived around 8 so we could beat the traffic in. Mission accomplished! We tried to go to this very same show three years ago but had the weekend wrong. The only other time I spent with Corvette guys was during the Power Tour. I hadn't been too impressed with them then, I'm less now.
Now let's play "Where's the Corvette Guy" - these are the ways to find one and identify him:
1. A Corvette Guy always has the right of way.
2. If out of his car, he will be wearing at least one item of Corvette apparel, usually either a shirt or hat. Sometimes shoes to match the car, or even socks.
3. He is usually at least 40 years old.
4. He does not even glance at other models of cars - if not a Corvette, he is not interested.
5. Most of the time he is either with male friends or by himself - chances are there is no wife - the wives we did see were with men who appeared to be at retirement age.
6. Corvette guys will drive from all over the country (and continent!) to Carlisle PA for the biggest Corvette show in the US - we saw license plates from VA, NJ, MA, NC, ME, TN & Ontario.
Z is a car guy, so even though he has a Corvette, he does not have any of these characteristics; he likes all cars, as long as they're fast.
