Saturday morning at 8:30 we had breakfast reservations at Boma over at the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge (aka DAK Lodge). My parents and their friends would be joining us. We made it over there without any wrong turns! We found our party waiting for us and shared our exciting news! Everyone was thrilled! Our meals were delicious, as always. After we ate Z, my parents and I headed over to the Animal Kingdom.
We headed right for the Safari, my favorite. We did Dinosaur, A Bug's Life, and then the Safari again. Turns out September and May are Love Bug months - never heard of a Love Bug? AKA the two headed bug. I don't know if this is true, but we heard they were a college experiment to get rid of mosquitoes. They apparently escaped, and now FL is flooded with them twice a year. They are attracted to white. Little did I know, I wore white capris, white t-shirt, white sneakers and socks. Bug Magnet. Oh well. I learned real quick.
After the Animal Kingdom we headed to Old Town to meet some friends. L&D & A&D met us over there. Old Town Saturday nights host car shows. It was quite interesting - next to the car show there was a bungee jumping stand that went WAY up into the air. It started by hauling the person up to the top and then swinging them down. Not so much for me. There weren't really a lot of cars, maybe because of the Love Bugs (who also like white cars).
After the slightly disappointing car show we went to eat, I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but it was good! Like a Texas Roadhouse. Everyone else lived about an hour away, so it wasn't a very late night. Back to the hotel!
Love bugs are fo' real. I had forgotten about them until you mentioned them, but when they're around, they're everywhere! I don't know about their being attracted to white, though...that sounds a bit fishy to me...
